CAMDEN-ROCKPORT MIDDLE SCHOOL: A NEW EDUCATIONAL FACILITY

Ledgewood Construction served as the General Contractor for the new Camden-Rockport Middle School Project. Located in Camden-Rockport, Maine, this forward-thinking, 83,400 square-foot facility was built and designed to support creativity, collaboration, and the evolving educational needs of the students and teachers.

FLEXIBLE LEARNING SPACES AT CAMDEN-ROCKPORT MIDDLE SCHOOL

Oak Point Associates designed the Camden-Rockport Middle School with flexibility in mind. The three-story, steel-framed building features masonry and stone veneer, metal and cementitious siding, and an abundance of large windows that flood the space with natural light. Inside, the open layout supports both traditional and collaborative teaching styles.

The hallways and common areas serve as additional shared spaces for breakout sessions and informal learning. The school also includes a gym, cafeteria, kitchen, theater, and library. Sitework included full mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, plus outdoor features like a playground, ball fields, and dedicated parent and bus loops.

CONSTRUCTION WITHOUT CHAOS

Constructing a brand-new school next to a fully operational one requires careful coordination. To avoid chaos, construction and demolition were carefully phased, allowing the original school to remain open throughout the process

Of course, no Maine project escapes the weather. Despite some delays, we stayed on track. Thanks to tight planning and strong teamwork, the project was completed on time.

This project was a collaboration between Ledgewood Construction, MSAD #28, and Oak Point Associates. The result? A modern school that’s more than just a building.
