Mary E. Taylor Building Renovation

DETAILS

MARY E. TAYLOR BUILDING

The Mary E. Taylor building renovation was a standout project for Ledgewood Construction and a key piece of the larger effort to revitalize the Camden-Rockport Middle School campus. This 24,000-square-foot transformation gave new life to the historic school, turning it into welcoming administrative offices and a dedicated space for the high school’s alternative education program, all while honoring its original architectural charm.

A HISTORIC APPROACH TO THE MARY E. TAYLOR BUILDING

The Mary E. Taylor building renovation has long stood out for it’s character and history. Rather than demolishing the building, MSAD #28 and Oak Point Associates chose a forward-thinking approach: restore and repurpose. The design respects the original structure while bringing the building up to modern standards.

Ledgewood Construction tackled the Mary E. Taylor building renovation with a full interior and systems overhaul: replacing all windows, modernizing mechanical and electrical systems, and adding a new stair tower and elevator. The team preserved original hardwood floors and trim, maintaining subtle but meaningful nods to the building’s legacy.

This project shows what’s possible when thoughtful design meets experienced craftsmanship.
