Birch Bay Village

A beautiful place to retire at the upscale inn and cottages.

Details.

Birch Bay Village, a multi-level retirement community, is owned by Mount Desert Island Hospital and offers 55-units for congregate living, assisted living and dementia care in a two-story inn, as well as independent living in cottage homes.

Because of the project’s difficult-to-reach location near Bar Harbor, many subcontractors were reluctant to travel to the site. Ledgewood scheduled the construction with special care, sequencing the work so that subcontractors had the fewest trips and least possible downtime.

The 60,ooo s.f. building includes common areas — dining room, commercial grade kitchen, card rooms, parlor and library with upscale finishes and are centrally located. Ledgewood completed the inn and cottages ahead of schedule and on budget.
