Jewish Community Center

Serving as Construction Manager for the Jewish Community Alliance of Southern Maine, Ledgewood constructed the new Jewish Community Center on the former St. Patrick’s church site. During demolition, cornerstones were saved and given back to former parishioners, along with a time capsule that was unearthed during the demolition process.

The completed community center maintains three separate functions: a preschool featuring toddler facilities, with before-and-after school programs and summer camps; staff offices; and community meeting and recreation spaces, as well as two kitchens (standard and Kosher Kitchen). A 50-space parking lot is included on the site.

The new community center includes numerous high-end finishes with wood paneling, cabinets, and Rulon wood ceilings. In addition, the new center includes a state-of-the-art security system, an elaborate playground feature and is fully air-conditioned with radiant heat.
