280 Fore Street

Located at the edge of Portland’s Old Port and Eastern Waterfront, this unique project stands next to the heavily trafficked Franklin Arterial and Fore Street, and stands a mere three feet from the Hilton Garden Inn, and two feet from the popular Fore Street Restaurant and Standard Baking Company.

Despite coming into the project midway — after Olympia and the project’s original contractor parted ways — Ledgewood completed the project in accordance with the original design while delivering over a million dollars in cost savings, and saving Olympia nearly one half million dollars in potential penalties and lost rent.

Ledgewood relied on their decades of localized experience in negotiating with the city to use a lane each of Franklin and Fore Streets in order to have a place for the job trailer and deliveries. To work within a tight schedule, the team choreographed laydown a month in advance to avoid conflict between trades.
